MTU-72, Bridge Layer

The MTU-72 Armoured Bridge Layer is intended to carry and lay bridges over obstacles of 18 meters wide, provide passage for tracked and wheeled military vehicles. It is made on the basis of the T-90 MBT chassis. The vehicle carries a single-span bridge made of aluminium alloy. It is possible to cover a 30m span by laying the second bridge from the first one. The outrigger-dozer with hydraulic control is mounted on the front of the vehicle.

The bridge layer is equipped with NBC protection, fire extinguishing, and smoke-screen systems, as well as intercom and radio sets.
